31 of the most terrifying Easter Bunnies you’ll ever see.
I came across this on happyplace.com and thought it was hilarious. I took none of the pictures and wrote none of the captions, but I did lovingly choose my favorites for you. Happy Easter.
As hard as shopping malls try to make “going to see the Easter Bunny” a thing, it’s never quite caught on like visiting Santa Claus. Maybe that’s because Christmas is a magical celebration of materialistic greed and gluttony while the closest thing to “fun” about Easter is showing off your new pair of church slacks — or maybe it’s because every Easter Bunny costume is a walking nightmare of soul-scarring horror. Here are some examples of why the image of a bleeding, emaciated guy on a cross rising from the grave is somehow not the most traumatizing thing about this holiday.
I’m just glad we learned the lessons of the evil Easter Bunny before people started dressing up as a rodent on Groundhog Day.
Good point, Guap. One of those could swallow kids in its giant shadow and no amount of candy would ever lure kids close enough for that.
Donnie Darko’s babies pictures… LOL!
Hey John! Yeah, that Donnie Darko reference is pretty hilarious if you know who he is!
I was waiting for it from Pic #1 🙂
The thought of a man dressed up in a bunny costume is super-creepy, and I’ve always thought it’s a dude. A woman in a bunny costume, on the other hand, is sexist. =)
The thought of a man only partly dressed as a bunny is the creepiest of all (as in #7-17-28). Yet, then there’s Santa Claus, who is always a dude? Personally, I think it has something to do with the fact that rabbits are normally prey, but as a giant-sized costume, they seem more predatory. Like if giant gerbils were attached to a holiday.
Great to see you Stacie, hope the cold weather is finally over! xx
Laura, those bunnies would scare anyone! Especially children. The whole idea of a giant bunny coming into your house and leaving candy in a basket is kind of creepy anyway, now that I think about it.
I agree, Brigitte. Now I’m inspired to find out where that tradition started, and how it evolved into a nightmare 🙂
Dear Laura,
I am Ginger’s DAD. Thanks again for providing a morning chuckle. I have shared your morning delight with her sisters.
Keep up the good work,
Chuck

Hi! It thrills me to no end that Chuck is chuckling and sharing scary rabbits! I think I’ve just written a haiku. Thank you for that, and have a great holiday 🙂
Holy crap was this funny. And horrifying. Hopalong Junkpatch. hahaha
Junkpouch my friend. Pouch. Mmmmmm. Glad you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!
Even better!
Now I know why I have never liked Easter! Them Silly Scary Wabbits ~ Some of them remind me of some people I know. Thanks for laugh~
Hilarious! Well done!
Nicely curated selection – those are so so funny!! I agree with what you said above – the halfway dressed ones are most creepy (excuse another Jim Carey reference, but one of them looks just like him in the Grinch). I never would have thought there could be so many variations of frightening (and downright hideous!) bunnies. 🙂 Super funny!
